Chandigarh Police announced the Constable (Executive) vacancies in November 2015. Selection for this recruitment will be based on the Physical Test & the Written Test based. First, all the eligible candidates have to go through the Physical Efficiency & Measurement Test (PE & MT). The Candidate who qualifies the Physical test will be considered for written exam.
Candidate must check the syllabus for Chandigarh Police Constable Exam 2016 to get an idea about the subject & marks. Written test will be conducted for all aspirants including the ex-service man who qualifies the PET / PMT. Here are the complete details:
- Exam Duration: 1 Hour and 45 Minutes
- Total Marks for Written Test: 100 Marks
- Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions
- Negative Marking: Yes there is negative marking in CHD Police Constable written test. For every wrong answer, 0.25 mark will be deducted.
Question paper for constable written test will be available in English, Punjabi and Hindi languages. Candidate had to select the language of paper during the registration process. Answer sheets will be available in OMR format which requires darkening the circles. Change in the medium of paper won’t be accepted once application form date is over.

There will be no interview. Merit list will be issued category wise on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in written exam. Marks from Physical test won’t be taken into consideration for preparing the final merit list.
Written Test Cut Off: Chandigarh Police Constable Cut Off for written exam will be category wise as described below. However IGP, Chandigarh has the right to lower the cut off for particular vacancies if the number of candidates scoring qualifying marks are lower.
