Recruitment for 1370 constables was advertised last week by Odisha Police. Selection of constables in OISF will be done on the basis of this module for ongoing recruitment. Physical Test, Written Exam & Medical examination are the only selection methods for these posts. PET event will be taking place in January month next year i.e in 2016. Let’s dig into the details of Written Exam Syllabus, Odisha Police PET details 2015-16.
Medical Test: Once candidate is found physically fit in medical exam only then he /she will be able to participate in physical test. Aspirants must not have bow legs, flat foot, knock knee, varicose veins, poor vision, color blindness, squint in eyes, inability to flex the fingers properly and any other known deformities. He / she should have no hurdle in speaking and hearing.
Physical Standards: In order to apply the application form, candidates must have the following weight & height standards. “Sports Person” will get relaxation in measurement of 2 c.m in chest, 3 c.m in height & 5 K.G in weight but should have the valid certificates to prove his / her sports eligibility.
Physical Measurement Test (PMT): All eligible candidates then will be called for the PET / PMT which will take place on 17th Jan, 2016 from 7:00 A.M. Physical measurement (Height) will give the candidates 3 bonus points. Male candidates should have height of 178 cms or above and women candidate’s height should be 165 cms or above, to get the bonus points. Other than height, PMT is just for qualifying purpose
PET Details for Male Candidates
Physical Efficiency Test (PET), for Males: Once candidate’s physical standards are measured, they need to go through the PET which consists of racing, high jump, broad jump, swimming, rope climbing & cross country. PET will be conducted for maximum 40 marks. This will have following events:

High Jump: Candidates will get three chances to complete this event. Clearing it in first attempt assigns the highest marks possible. Qualifying height is 1.22 Meters. If a candidate doesn’t complete the high jump in three attempts then he will be disqualified.
- 1st chance: 03 marks.
- 2nd chance: 02 marks.
- 3rd chance: 01 mark.
Higher marks for top jumpers will be awarded as follows:-
- If cleared 1.38 meters : 06 marks.
- If cleared 1.50 meters : 08 marks.
Broad Jump: Minimum qualifying length for long jump is 3.66 Meters. Candidates who fails to attain this distance after 3 chance then he shall be rejected.
- 3.66 Meters: 1 Mark
- 4.00 Meters: 3 Marks
- 4.35 Meters: 5 Marks
- 4.50 Meters : 6 Marks
Rope Climbing: This event also carries three attempts. Candidate need to climb the rope of 6 meters from ground, with his hands.
- 1st Chance : 6 Marks
- 2nd Chance : 4 Marks
- 3rd Chance : 2 Marks
Swimming: No marks will be added for swimming event. Candidates need to swim for 40 meters within 8 minutes to become the eligible.
Cross Country: Candidates need to cover the distance of 5 k.m.s. Marks allotted for this event are 10 marks. If you’re unable to complete the distance within 25 minutes then entry will be rejected for you.

Physical Efficiency Test for Women Candidates
Physical Efficiency Test (PET) for Females: Once your physical standards are measured, you need to undergo the PET which consists of racing, broad jump, swimming & cycling. PET for female candidates will be taken for maximum 30 marks. There shall be listed events:
PET for women aspirants is kept as per the standards of them. It includes full race of 1.6 k.m.s, sprint race of 200 meters, broad jump of 2.75 meters, cycling of 1.6 k.m.s. Swimming of 40 meters is also for female candidates but it’s of qualifying nature. No points for it but it’s essential to qualify for next step. Marks wise details for each of the events are following:
Driving Test: It will be conducted for 05 marks. Candidates having Heavy Vehicle Driving License will get 05 marks after clearing this test. Those how have Light Vehicle Driving license, will get 03 marks on completion of driving test. Candidate must be having license for the last one year (excluding learning period) or more from the date of notification of posts.
Educational Achievements: Minimum qualification for this matriculation pass but if a student had more marks in 10th class then he / she will be awarded with extra points as per their percentage.

NCC Certificate: 1 Mark for ‘A’ Certificate, 3 marks for ‘B’ Certificate and 5 marks for ‘C’ Certificate.
Odisha Police Written Exam Syllabus, Pattern 2015-16
Selection board will be holding written test for constables for 25 marks. Level of questions available in this examination will be of High School (10th class) exam organized by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha. Multiple choice questions in English Language, Oriya language, Logical reasoning, Arithmetic, Aptitude and G.K etc should be available in this test.
This exam will be taken in offline mode through OMR sheets. Candidate who fails to attend this examination will be disqualified. Later, selection board will be deciding the minimum cut off marks for Odisha Police Constable Examination. List of exam centers is shown in the official notification.
