About Punjab School Education Board: The Punjab School Educational Board is an educational organizational body established in 1969. It is currently headquartered at SAS Nagar, Mohali(Punjab). In 1987, Vidhan Sabha amended the Board’s Act to grant its autonomy. The Board aims at providing the students better educational standards for their growth and development in the field of education.
The Board conducted the public examination at Middle, Matriculation, and Senior Secondary levels, providing the examination environment to the students, facilities, and amenities required by them at school levels fulfilling all the prospects they might need to build an enriching career. Current, chairman of this board is Dr. Tejinder Kaur Dhaliwal. PSEB was founded in the year 1969 under PSEB Act.

As per the sources, around 3.5 lakhs students had appeared for the exams last year. The number of students appeared for the examination this year is expected to be more than the previous year. The Punjab School Educational Board had conducted the examination in 23 districts of the Punjab State including Amritsar, Barnala, Bathinda, Faridkot, Fazilka, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Moga, Pathankot, Patiala, Rupnagar, Sangrur, SBS Nagar, Tarntaran and many more. Last year, the district with maximum number of Merit-Holders was Ludhiana. In the year 2015, all the top three positions were bagged by girls and the maximum pass percentage was seen in commerce, where it was around 93.89%. The overall pass percentage across the state was recorded at 84.42% in the Punjab Board.
In the previous year, 12th board results were announced by the board members on 11 May 2015. Same as the previous year, the PSEB 12th results have been announced in the month of May as scheduled by the board itself.
