SSC has started to host the region wise admit cards for Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2016. From August 16, 2016, candidates from any SSC Region can download their roll numbers using their Region specific website. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) had postponed the CGL Exam to August month. Earlier, the Tier I test was scheduled to be taken on 8th and 22nd May 2016 but now it will be conducted from 27th August 2016 to 11th September 2016. Ending the long waiting period, the commission has issued the list of vacancies (tentative) available this year under CGL Examination. Qualifiers of this two-tier recruitment get appointed on various vacancies in various central government departments. Every year lacs of the candidates tries their hands on this national level competitive examination to get recruited for the Group B vacancies in various government bodies.
Now candidates have pulled up their socks to appear for Tier I examination which will be commenced from 27th August 2-16. CGLE Tier 1 is scheduled to be held in August & September month from August 27 to September 11, 2016. This exam has been in questioning due to paper leak and fraud inclusion in past year which caused it’s re-conduction too. The Tier 1 exam of CGL has an objective type question paper and will be taken for 200 marks in total. About 9 lakh candidates have applied for the CGL online examination 2016.
In Tier I, The candidates are required to attempt all 4 parts which include moderate questions from Reasoning, Arithmetic, English and General Awareness. Instructions on downloading CGL 2016 Tier I Admit Card:
- Visit the regional SSC website according to your state.
- Then enter Roll Number or Registered ID number. If you don’t have any of these then you can retrieve credentials using the “Forgot Registration Number” section on SSC web page. You need to enter first three characters of candidate’s name and his / her father name along with aspirant’s date of birth to get your forgotten application ID.
- Once you entered your registration no, press the “Search Status” or any submission button on the website to download your SSC CGL Tier I Exam Admit Card.

All tiers for this exam are of qualifying nature which means you must clear the first tier to get entry to next tier. Candidates clearing Tier I head over to Tier II examination and qualifiers of Tier 2 takes part in the last one. Last step (Tier 3) includes interview / personality test / document verification and medical test which ensures your final selection through the CGL exam.
From the year 2015, the interview has been removed from all exams conducted by SSC. So there won’t be any interview or personality test for CGL 2016 Recruitment.
As per the list of CGL posts issued by the commission, there are 4209 vacant posts to be filled through the CGLE-16. From this year, SSC will conduct first two tiers of CGLE as computer-based tests. Slowly, the commission is moving to conduct all of its exams in online mode.
