Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the hall tickets for written test of Jr. Engineer (J.E) recruitment 2016. The exam is scheduled to be held on various dates in
December month (postponed to be held in February 2017). The shift wise schedule has been provided now by the commission.
This all India level examination will be organized by SSC to finalized the aspirants for Junior Engineer vacancies in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical stream in CWC, CPWD, MES and a few other departments.
SSC J.E Paper I Exam Dates: The Exam was expected to be held on 20th, & 23rd December 2016. It has been postponed now. New schedule for SSC JE Paper 1 has been announced now. It’s the 2nd time when the commission has changed the dates for J.E examination. SSC JE Exam Postponement Notice.
New SSC JE Exam Date: March 1 to March 4, 2017.
No Interview System: Following the Narendra Modi’s interview free recruitment system, the commission has removed the interview step for candidates of Junior Engineer recruitment.
From the year 2015, only written exam (online) will be conducted for J.E vacancies and selection will be made on the basis of merit list in SSC J.E Exam (Paper-1 & Paper-2). Read Notice for Interview removal.
Just in case, if the photograph of the candidate is not clear on the printed out SSC Jr. Engineer 2017 Admit card then you need to paste the most recent photograph on appropriate place.
Candidates are also recommended to bring one government identity such as Voter ID, driving license or ration card along with you while going for the exam.
SSC Jr. Engineer Online Exam Pattern 2017:
- J.E Written test will be conducted in two parts for 500 Marks. Paper-1 will be taken for 300 marks while Paper-2 will be held for 200 marks.
- Paper-1 consists objective type questions whereas Paper-2 is of conventional type (descriptive).
- Time allowed for both papers is 2 Hours each.
- No interview will be conducted for selection from now.
- There is negative marking of 1/4th mark each wrong answer.

SSC has issued J.E Paper 1 Admit Card 2016-17 zone wise. List of the rejected candidates shall be issued by the exam conducting commission. Only eligible aspirants will be able to print out the SSC JE Admit Card Feb 2017 from the zonal SSC websites after release.
