Vyavasayik Pareeksha Parishad in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh (VPPUP) has declared a notification for the admission of interested candidates to government aided and private unaided ITI institutions for the session 2017-2018. The admission to Industrial Training Institute in various trades will be starting once the entrance exam is over.
There are confusions going on right now if an entrance examination shall determine admissions to various government and private colleges, like has been the trend last year.
It is advised that students keep themselves prepared, just in case there is an admission test like all past years that determine admissions to the best colleges. The Employment and Training Directorate are engrossed in a research of coming up with an alternative measure of admissions other than an admission test.
The most suggested measure strongly depends on merit based entrance. All applications shall be conducted online to create a process that is not only transparent but also authentic. The Admission List will be crafted on the basis of High School Marks from this year.
The entrance examination determines the admissions of students to 217 colleges in total, government and private, according to the marks they score in the entrance examination and the rank they procure. The ITI might base their admission procedure entirely on the basis of board marks which might be advantageous to hard-working students.
It might leave unfortunate but capable students out of the league, who couldn’t perform well in the examination. Every year, the Vyavasayik Pareeksha Parishad witnesses 5 lakh students appearing for the entrance examination. Out of the total, only 1 lakh students make it to the 217 ITIs on the basis of their rank obtained in the examination.
UP ITI Admission 2017
It is highly suggested that entrance examination shall not be conducted for students, this year. Discussions are still on and the final procedure of entrance shall be notified to students via the official website. Students shall be applying online for a transparent and speedy procedure.
The alternative suggested for entrance examination by the Employment and Training Directorate is of the merit obtained in high school, or the marks obtained in board examinations, across the state. It is to provide a fair chance to all meritorious students who know their subjects well.
General candidates are required to pay an examination fee of ₹250 after submission of their application form while reserved candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) have to pay an application fee of ₹150 for the successful submission of their application.
Students can start applying online from 08.06.2017 and continue until applications close on
28.06.2017. The last date has been extended to 10th July 2017.
