Time to time, West Bengal Police announces the Constable (Male), CT (Female), Warder, SI etc vacancies for which selection is usually made on the basis of PET / PMT / Written Exam & interview.
We have got hands on the syllabus for WB police constable exam 2016-17 along with the physical standard details. We strongly recommend the aspirants to prepare according to the official selection scheme to ensure the maximum performance in the recruitment.
1. PMT: First of all, eligible candidates will be called for PMT (Physical Measurement Test) for which minimum standards are as per following:

P.S: Minimum expansion of 5 c.m.s in the chest is required for all candidates. The height-weight of candidates will be measured using the electronic machines.
Weight: To be qualified in the measurement test, weight of the candidate must be proportionate to height as per medical standard chart shown below:
2. PET: Candidates clearing PMT, will be participating in PET which consists racing event. Only one chance will be given to candidate and measurement in this step will be done through Radio Frequency Identification Device (RFID) technology.

3. Written test: West Bengal Police Constable Exam will be conducted for 90 Marks. A Limited number of candidates clearing the physical test will be called for appearing in this test.
WB police written exam consists of 60 questions having 1.5 marks each. The Time duration for examination is 1 hour. Subject wise questions & marks details are as per following:

Question Paper will be settled in Hindi, English, Bengali & Nepali languages and the answers need to be filled up by the candidates on OMR Sheet. Option for selection of the language for written exam was given to the candidates at the time of registration. There will be negative marking of 1/4th mark for each wrong answer.
4. Interview: The interview will be conducted by West Bengal Police Recruitment Board through Range Recruitment Boards for 10 marks. Then the merit list will be issued containing names of finalized candidates who have to go through the medical checkup and document verification.
Selection Flow: Applicants who are provisionally considered eligible, will be invited to participate in Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) which are just qualifying in nature. Qualifiers of PMT and PET will be able to participate in the Written Examination which will be followed by the Interview.
